Designation of the Plan Area

Designation of the Neighbourhood Plan Area

The first stage in making a Neighbourhood Development Plan is to agree the designated area.  This is a formal process overseen by the local planning authority and involves a period of counsultation to ensure that there are no major objections to the area being defined.  In the case of the Tenbury and Burford plan both Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) and Shropshire Council (SC) had to be involved in discussion as the designated area straddles both county and adminstrative boundaries.  As it has been agreed that Tenbury would act as lead Council in the process MHDC have agreed to act as the lead authority for the plan and will therefore oversee the final referendum once he plan is complete.

Area designation was applied for in November 2015 and the area was designated in March 2016.
